I’ve been a bit out of the picture since I got back from my trip to Italy at the end of April. While I was there, I decided to make some changes to my coaching business.
As you may know, I love to travel! LOL
While I was on my last trip, I decided to become a travel coach. I had been following my travel coach mentor for several months and while traveling decided to take the plunge and sign up for her certification program. So, I’m now working on the certification to become a travel coach. I also became a travel agent several months ago.
It may seem like a huge jump to go from transformational money coaching and helping women change their beliefs about money, so they can live the life they want to have rather than the life they can afford, to travel coaching but it really isn’t.
As a travel coach, I help women who have recently had a major transition such as divorce/separation, loss of a loved one, loss of a job/career, kids leaving home, or any other event where she’s left feeling lost and confused about what’s next. Losing your major role in life can be devastating and we often don’t know who we are anymore.
I help women through this by setting some goals, working on limiting beliefs, and helping them plan a trip that will bring them to their transformational goals. This is intentional travel.
After my Mom died and I lost my role as her caregiver, I felt lost and confused and had no idea who I was anymore, much less what to do with my life. An opportunity to go to Italy came up, I went, and I was surprised with the results. I went on the trip with the loose intentions (I didn’t know about intentional travel then) of getting away, grieving, getting some clarity on who I was and what I wanted to do, and enjoy the architecture of Italy!
I did all of that and so much more! I grieved and yet felt my Mom with me as I traveled through Italy. I met new friends who were a part of the group I met up with and many who are still my friends 6 years later. I felt more empowered and self-confident as I moved through some of Rome on my own. I got clearer on who I was becoming and what I wanted to do with my life. I almost didn’t recognize myself when I came home a month later.
We all travel for a reason whether we’re aware of it or not. What are some changes you’ve made while traveling?
